Pearl's Blog Hop

I know I'm really late but I really did not get a chance to do any specific designs for the hop. So, I decided to post some of my most recent designs that have pearls in them.

These are imitation pearls, plastic to be exact from Joann's. The following earrings are the pearls from Joann's.

Check out these beads and the artist who created THEM!

I decided that I'm going to feature some of the bead artists and/ or beads that I love to work and would like to work with in the future.

The artist I want to feature is Kandice Seeber. She creates beautiful lampwork beads that are full of color and awe...makes you just want to eat them like candy! She also has a blog called Color Addiction and after you visit he, you'll see why!

Check out her blog above or visit her at her etsy store, either you won't miss out and why would you want to anyway.

I just had to make the picture bigger so you could get the full affect!!!

Michael's Challenge Reveal

Lorelei Eurto does these Michael's Challenges and now and again. If you want to see a complete list of the blogs invoveled in this challenge hop just click here.

I got a couple extra beads in there...some I used and some I didn't. I love this palette especially with the orange mixed in...

These are my pieces that I created for the challenge, it was a struggle. The first piece I created was a bracelet. I love the design. In seeing pieces on the Internet, I tried making my own chain links....it turned out pretty good for my first time making that particular chain.

I also realized that I left out some beads, so it was back to the drawing board. I really wanted to make a necklace and some earrings but it seems that only bracelet designs are flowing through this brain of mine, so I go with the flow.

Here is what I came up with....

I'm doing a huge giveaway for Labor Day so if you don't want to miss it just "like" my Facebook page.

All Things MADE: Creating in Chaos

All Things MADE: Creating in Chaos

Creating in Chaos

This blog post is all about the process of creating. Marie-Noel Voyer-Cramp of Skye Jewels posted the above picture on Facebook of her earrings but all we as jewelry artists saw was her collected creative mess.

Comment after comment reflected on our own chaos of creation that we as artists generate while creating. It's almost like the mad scientist working hard at developing his new plan to take over the world hahahahaha!

No, seriously...I've noticed that it happens to me no matter if I'm sewing on jewelry making, I usually have a pile right in the area where I'm creating. And to the average person who sees that pile of stuff it looks like I'm a mad person who has no idea nor plan of an end game to present an actual item that will want to be worn, better yet sold.

But what this person doesn't realize is if I took time to put everything up after opening and then discovering that is not going to suit the need in which I want it for at that time. Then I would lose my creative edge and all my creative ideas would just blow out the window. I know that in time that item which I put to the side will eventually be used in the process later down the road. I usually know where everything is and I can never put anything up due to I'm going to have to come back and create the mess all over again.

I'm just glad I'm not the only one that works this way. Thank you all for sharing it makes me feel like I'm actually doing something right.

Oh yeah and Marie thank you for sharing your picture and your earrings are absolutely gorgeous!!!

Town Peddler Antique & Craft Show

This is the lasted show, Town Peddler, I participated in on Saturday. I really like my set-up, of course I will improve on it as I do more shows. Here are some pictures.

I was so excited Friday when I received my displays and gridwalls. It took me the whole two hours of set-up time to just get the grids up. But I eventually got it in order.

I plan on incorporating my jewelry with the clothes. I will have a bracelet making station, where anyone can pay $5 to create their own bracelet. I'm hoping it will be fun!

The next vendor event will be in mid July. I will also have tutus, hair-bows and bow-ties. So I can't wait.

I will keep you posted.

Craft shows from the past

These are pictures of my craft shows in my past efforts to put my creations on display. I wanted to post pictures of my craft show displays from the past. And now that I see what I was doing, no wonder I didn't get much sales. The booths were not very appealing. If I was a B&M no one would walk into my store and if they did...they would walk right back out! lol

But I will start off with the most recent and end with my run in 2005. I have one show that I cannot find the pictures. That's when I did my own thing at the Holiday Inn Express formerly known as the Hawthorne Inn & Suites in Southfield, Michigan. I believe the pics are on an old computer that I no longer own.

It has taken me sometime to get this together, longer than I had planned. I finally got the pictures that I was looking for...
Home Show (at my house), Wixom, Michigan 8/2005

Pumpkinfest 2005, South Lyon, Michigan (10/2005)

Holly Holiday, Holly, Michigan (11/2005)
2010 Christmas Party at the Hampton Inn, Northville, Michigan (12/2010)
In reviewing these I know I need more product and my booth needs some tender loving care, maybe some light. I will post pics of future shows and ideas.

If you would like to give me advice please by all means do so....thank you!

♥,
Serena Trent
