This blog post is all about the process of creating. Marie-Noel Voyer-Cramp of Skye Jewels posted the above picture on Facebook of her earrings but all we as jewelry artists saw was her collected creative mess.
Comment after comment reflected on our own chaos of creation that we as artists generate while creating. It's almost like the mad scientist working hard at developing his new plan to take over the world hahahahaha!
No, seriously...I've noticed that it happens to me no matter if I'm sewing on jewelry making, I usually have a pile right in the area where I'm creating. And to the average person who sees that pile of stuff it looks like I'm a mad person who has no idea nor plan of an end game to present an actual item that will want to be worn, better yet sold.
But what this person doesn't realize is if I took time to put everything up after opening and then discovering that is not going to suit the need in which I want it for at that time. Then I would lose my creative edge and all my creative ideas would just blow out the window. I know that in time that item which I put to the side will eventually be used in the process later down the road. I usually know where everything is and I can never put anything up due to I'm going to have to come back and create the mess all over again.
I'm just glad I'm not the only one that works this way. Thank you all for sharing it makes me feel like I'm actually doing something right.
Oh yeah and Marie thank you for sharing your picture and your earrings are absolutely gorgeous!!!
