Craft shows from the past

These are pictures of my craft shows in my past efforts to put my creations on display. I wanted to post pictures of my craft show displays from the past. And now that I see what I was doing, no wonder I didn't get much sales. The booths were not very appealing. If I was a B&M no one would walk into my store and if they did...they would walk right back out! lol

But I will start off with the most recent and end with my run in 2005. I have one show that I cannot find the pictures. That's when I did my own thing at the Holiday Inn Express formerly known as the Hawthorne Inn & Suites in Southfield, Michigan. I believe the pics are on an old computer that I no longer own.

 

It has taken me sometime to get this together, longer than I had planned. I finally got the pictures that I was looking for...

In reviewing these I know I need more product and my booth needs some tender loving care, maybe some light. I will post pics of future shows and ideas.

Pattern Review, New Look 6094

I really love this pattern and thought it would be very flattering on me.

Pattern Description: Misses' dress with sleeveless or cap-sleeved bodice and slim or flared and pleated skirt.

Pattern Sizing: 8 to 18

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I loved the princess seams in the bodice but disliked the bodice fit.

Fabric Used: I used a cotton stretch sateen.

New Look 6094

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I did necessarily alter or make any design changes but I made View A with the added details of View C. I did not put the stripes on the bottom of the dress as seen in View C.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, but I would make sure I paid close attention to the sizing of the bodice. I also recommend it to others.

Conclusion: This dress was very easy to make. I have issues with the fit in the bodice of most garments, its either too tight or too lose. But I will make this dress again with the full skirt with the sleeveless option for the summer.

Pattern Review: McCalls 6320

M6320

 I love this pattern. I like the Tarzan look, it's a classic trend that can be done for all occasions. I like this so much that I have made this dress twice. Here is my review of the first dress.

Pattern Envelope M6320

Pattern Description: Misses' Dresses and Belt. Close-fitting dress has lined bodice. A: Optional belt loops. A, C: 13/4" wide purchased belt.

Pattern Sizing: 6 to 20, plus A/B, C, and D cup sizes.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like the different options available. I dislike the bodice fit.

Fabric Used: I used a Polyester Georgette and a Polyester Satin as the lining because the Georgette was see through.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: As I mentioned above because I used a fabric that needed a lining for the entire dress I had to line both the bodice, as well as, the skirt.
I also liked view A without the band outlining the top of the bodice. So, I made view A minus the band.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, but I would make sure I paid close attention to the sizing of the bodice.

My version of M6320

Conclusion: I’ve made this dress twice. The dress in this review was the first one that I made. I finished it and tried it on only to have about a three inch gap on the side under the arm of the bodice. So, I had to remove the zipper and re-do the lining to adjust the fit. I adjusted the fit and actually made it too tight but I decided not to touch it again. I’m glad I didn’t adjust it again because it was fine when I wore it out for the first time.
